Description

The Biostatistics Section is an active and growing group of faculty and staff researchers. In addition to holding primary appointments in the Division of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Preventive Medicine, one faculty has a primary appointment in the Division of Nephrology, and two are Research Scientists. Their expertise includes methodological development in statistical genomics, immunology, group-randomized trials, biomarker evaluation, survival analysis, and risk modeling. Our biostatisticians collaborate extensively with scientists and clinician researchers throughout the Health Sciences Center, Main Campus, and in specialized Centers such as the Clinical and Translational Science Center and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Education is a priority with faculty regularly teaching biostatistics in degree-granting programs: the Master of Science in Clinical Research, and the Master in Public Health. Faculty frequently offer short courses and host webinars for statistics-related topics.
