Description

The Undergraduate Summer Internship is our headline enrichment program for undergraduates who are eager to collaborate with our researchers, as well as their own peers, at Harvard’s FAS Center for Systems Biology and the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School. Participants in this paid internship will work in our labs, gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools and learning cutting-edge scientific techniques in our dynamic research environment. Past interns have praised the depth of their involvement in the program as well as its utility to their ongoing research, including senior theses.

We are part of a university-wide initiative whose goal is to find general principles that govern the structure, behavior, and evolution of living systems, from the tiniest cells to the largest organisms. Our members combine an array of theoretical and empirical approaches and span a wide range of disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, computer science, statistics, and mathematics.

We host interns every summer for 10 weeks, from June to August. Interns will be given housing in Harvard College’s Leverett House, located near historic Harvard Yard on the bank of the Charles River in Cambridge. In addition to room and board–including access to Harvard recreational and athletic facilities–each intern will receive a stipend of $4,500.
